About City

Dallas is located in the northeast of  Texas, where three branches of the Trinity River merge.Dallas is the eighth-largest city in the United States and the second-largest city in Texas. The city's eminence arose from its historical importance as a center for the oil and cotton industries, the numerous railroad lines. Dallas has developed one the biggest and busiest airport in the world, which developed as a strong industrial and financial center. Globalization and World Cities Study Group & Network rated it as a "beta plus"  and World City and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development ranked it as 14th in  GDP.Like many other cities, it was found along a river. It was founded at the location of a "white rock crossing" of the Trinity River.Dallas has a large community of colleges.More than 250,000 students are attracted to Dallas and its nearby communities and it is home to 45 colleges and universities.
